Bellevue Homes

Bellevue Homes is the residential development branch of Bellevue Holding Company, one of the Delaware Valley's premier real estate development companies known for handsome buildings and award-winning neighborhoods.

It all began when Dominick Cantera, an Italian stone mason, came to this country in 1924. His son Carl Cantera along with Arthur Carota created Bellevue Holding Company, a quiet dynasty which has shaped the face of the Brandywine Valley. While keeping a very low profile, Bellevue established an irrefutable reputation for quality.

Early work by Bellevue included stately homes in Wilmington neighborhoods like Augustine Hills, Westover Hills and Wawaset Park. The firm has made its mark in commercial ventures too, such as the PNC Bank Center in Wilmington, the Provident Mutual and Blue Cross/Blue Shield HMO buildings near Christiana, and over 20 office buildings for MBNA including their world-class international headquarters on Rodney Square in Wilmington.

Borrowing the best from the past and incorporating the best of the future, Bellevue Homes is now creating award-winning communities. Somerset Lake, the resort-style community surrounding a 28-acre lake in Landenberg, PA, won the 1996 Best in American Living Award from the National Association of Home Builders and Professional Builder Magazine. For two years it was named "Best Community" from the Delaware Home Builders Association.

Bellevue's newest resort-style community, Hartefeld, surrounds the renowned Hartefeld National Golf Course in southern Chester County. With a golf course designed by Tom Fazio, and a clubhouse and restaurant operated by restaurateur Davis Sezna, Hartefeld promises to be an award winner, too.
